Lotemax Eye Drop is a member of the class of medications known as steroids. It is used to treat eye swelling and redness brought on by allergies or infections. By stopping the body from releasing chemicals that lead to inflammation, it relieves redness, itching, and soreness.

Uses :

After ocular surgery, loteprednol is used to treat post-operative pain and inflammation. An uncomfortable feeling and emotional experience linked to tissue damage is pain. The immune system’s normal reaction to an injury or infection is inflammation. The prescription drug loteprednol is used to treat eye inflammation and redness.

Loteprednol etabonate is a component of loteprednol. It is a corticosteroid that acts by preventing the brain’s prostaglandins, a chemical messenger that causes swelling and inflammation. Loteprednol so aids in the treatment of pain and inflammation.

If the seal is broken before using Lotepred Eye Drop for the first time, never use it. Hands-wash before handling it. If you wear contact lenses, be sure to take them out and wait at least fifteen minutes before putting them back in.

Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Eye gel/Ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the medicine into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.

Precautions & Warnings :

If you have an allergy to any of the ingredients in loteprednol, including corticosteroids, let your doctor know. Loteprednol should not be taken in excess of the recommended dosage as this could result in cataract, glaucoma, vision issues, or fungus infections. Loteprednol should only be taken as directed by your doctor if you have or have ever had herpes simplex infection, glaucoma (increased eye pressure), any other eye condition, or are pregnant. Loteprednol should not be taken while nursing. Drive only if you can see clearly because loteprednol may temporarily impair your vision.

Overdose :

Missed Dose : 

Try to take it at the same day every day. Do not double the dose if missed.

Storage :

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
