Mometasone is used for both year-round and seasonal allergy symptoms, including runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, and itching. It's also used to treat nasal polyps, which are specific growths in the nose. Mometasone is a member of the corticosteroid drug class. It functions by lessening nasal passage swelling (inflammation).
