A group of related diseases collectively known as cancer. Solid tumors are masses of tissue that are formed by many cancers. Blood cancers, like leukemias, typically do not develop into solid tumors. Because cancerous tumors are malignant, they have the ability to invade and spread to neighboring tissues.
